Dear Supporters,
It is with great sadness that I wish to inform you that The Bonnie Babes Foundation will be closing its doors on the 15th of July 2011.
Last year following the Federal Government’s decision to support grief counseling and peer support services, the Bonnie Babes Foundation continued with a focus of supporting the much needed and significantly underfunded area of medical research.
We were very keen to continue this vital charitable work to prevent miscarriage, stillbirth and all pregnancy complications by supporting research. However, the recent changes to the Foundation have impacted negatively on the income to support these activities and have occurred at a particularly difficult time financially with the floods in Australia and the earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan stretching philanthropic donations. Our hearts go out to the victims of these tragic events.
Unfortunately the culmination of these events has meant that we no longer have the financial capacity to continue the charity. As devoted supporters of the Bonnie Babes Foundation, I wanted to sincerely thank you all for your dedication and commitment to the Foundation over the years. Although Bonnie Babes will close, medical research in this vital area will continue and I’m sure that you will find other ways to support this necessary area of research. Your donations to date have helped us to fund two very worthwhile projects this year, and for this we are very grateful.
Again, sincerely, thank you, it is with a heavy heart that I write this letter but I wanted you to hear the sad news directly from us and not read about it elsewhere.
My very best wishes for your future happiness and thanks for your past generosity.
